About

Otis Luxton is a furniture maker and joiner working from his studio near the medieval wool town of Lavenham in Suffolk, England. He believes in creating work that adds to our sense of culture, time and place, informed by time-honoured craft and design. Although deeply rooted in traditional vernaculars, Otis’s work seeks to keep a foot in the modern world, employing contemporary craft techniques, sustainable practices and technology to improve the quality, consistency and longevity of his work.

Otis is mostly self-taught, also training for a time at The London College of Furniture, The Pioneer Sailing Trust, as well as working with a Joiner in East Suffolk for a number of years. He also holds a qualification in Folk & Traditional Music from Newcastle University and worked for some time in music education at Snape Maltings on the Suffolk coast.
